This Is Not a Drill: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Engaged and OMG That *Ring*

Congratulations to the happy couple and godspeed to all my fellow celebrity news writers out there: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged!

Swift and Kelce made the announcement via a joint Instagram post with the incredibly cute caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” alongside a lit firecracker emoji. The post featured a carousel of the gorgeous engagement—Kelce down on one knee in an English garden in full bloom, the couple standing foreheads touching in a sweet embrace and a closeup of the absolutely enormous ring. Thank you for giving the people what they want, Taylor!

Both halves of the A-list duo looked wonderfully low-key, with Swift sporting a simple striped sundress from Ralph Lauren with brown platform sandals and undone locks. As for Kelce, he perfectly matched her down-to-earth vibes in a cable knit polo, shorts and brown loafers.

And that ring! With a rectangular stone and simple-looking gold band it feels like a modern twist on a classic—totally spot on for Taylor. According to Daniela Tarantino, VP of Merchandising of James Allen and Blue Nile, “Taylor Swift’s gorgeous ring is likely a unique cut just for her, but to our eye it looks similar to an elongated modified cushion. We estimate it’s somewhere between 10 and 15 carats total, set on a yellow gold band.”
