‘Supermarket Sweep’ Is Now Streaming on Netflix

In honor of the upcoming reboot, Netflix just released a throwback collection of Supermarket Sweep oldies.

That’s right, 15 episodes of the popular series are now available for your streaming pleasure. Netflix announced the exciting news on Twitter and confirmed we aren’t the only ones who are suckers for a classic game show.

The tweet read, “I don’t know who needs to hear this, but 15 episodes of the iconic Supermarket Sweep are now on Netflix in The U.S.”

Each episode of Supermarket Sweep features three different pairs of shoppers, who are tasked with completing a series of grocery-themed challenges in the hope of winning the cash prize.

The game show originally aired on ABC from 1965 to 1967. (It was later revived by Lifetime and Pax TV.) In 2019, we learned that NBC, ABC, Netflix and Fox were in a bidding war over the reboot, which will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones. In the end, ABC walked away victorious.

“I’ve always dreamed of being on Supermarket Sweep,” Jones said in a statement. “Seriously, I tried out for the show years ago; and after getting turned away, I knew I’d have to take matters into my own hands.”

Prepare to go wild in the aisles.
