This new photo of Serena Williams and her daughter, Alexis Olympia, speaks volumes about their close-knit relationship.
Yesterday, the professional tennis player, 38, posted a candid photo on her personal Instagram account, featuring the toddler, 2, helping her mom get dressed (in a Disney princess costume, we might add). In the caption, Williams confirmed that Olympia has her back—both literally and figuratively.
The photo shows Williams and Alexis Olympia wearing matching Sleeping Beauty princess dresses. (Yes, they come in adult sizes.) The athlete is kneeling on the ground with her back toward her daughter, who is zipping up mom’s dress.
Williams wrote, “She’s got my back already. And I’ll always have hers.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments section with words of praise for the candid snapshot. Some encouraged Williams to wear the princess dress on the court, writing, “This should be your top seed Open dress.” Others couldn’t help but get emotional: “I’m not crying, you’re crying.”
Even Williams’s sister, Venus, chimed in and wrote, “I miss her.”
This isn’t the first time Williams and Alexis Olympia have donned mommy-and-me outfits. The Grand Slam champion has shared several photos on Instagram, featuring matching tennis outfits and “Belle” princess dresses. Back in May, she also shared a video of Olympia copying her skincare routine, which included matching PJs.
Williams shares Olympia with her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The pair tied the knot in 2017 in New Orleans.
