It's a wardrobe staple, TBH

Selena Gomez is saying goodbye to New York but not without leaving fans with a perfect fall fashion moment.

The Rare Beauty founder shared a carousel of photos from her recent NYC trip on Instagram on Wednesday, September 10. The first image shows Selena lounging on a bed with her head resting on her hands, her hair slicked back, wearing cat-eye glasses and dangly earrings. The rest of the post includes a snap of her TV playing Only Murders in the Building, shots of a dinner table (with some seriously tasty-looking dishes), a few mirror selfies, cocktails and more.

But let’s talk about one specific look: a white shirt layered under a denim jacket with a contrasting tan collar. (The tenth photo in the post below.)

Jean jackets are basically a fall essential and Selena's version puts a cool twist on the classic staple. Not only does it look great but it also hits all three of the jean jacket rules: comfort, mobility (those elbows need room) and, most importantly, it makes a statement.

The post also included some adorable behind-the-scenes moments with her Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, as well as more glam selfies and foodie shots.

“Hello and goodbye NY [red heart emoji] grateful for a great trip with my guys!” she wrote in the caption. And fans were all about it.

“You came and SERVED!! Obsessed with every look. (PS, Mabel Mora is an ICON),” one fan gushed, referring to her character on the show. Another wrote, “Such an amazing show, with the best cast ever,” while a third kept it simple: “You are so cute.”

ICYMI, season five of Only Murders in the Building recently premiered. Martin Short even snagged an Emmy nomination for his role this year. Whether or not they take home the trophy this year, one thing’s for sure—the show remains a must-watch, now streaming on Hulu.
