It’s no secret that “Hogwarts” isn’t considered an approved Scrabble word, but that’s all about to change.
Scrabble: World of Harry Potter will hit shelves beginning this spring. The new version will be released by USAopoly, a company known for licensing classic board games like Monopoly, Yahtzee and Life.
If you’re a fan of the O.G. Scrabble rules, you should know the Harry Potter ones are a bit different. First, the game will feature a card-drawing element, in which players can complete challenges to earn extra points.
Even better, players are allowed to use Harry Potter vocabulary, which means spells, character names and locations are all encouraged. Ten points for Gryffindor!
This is a total game-changer, considering the original Scrabble is limited to words that are included in the official players dictionary. So, now we don’t have to worry about getting called out for fraud when we use that ten-point “Q” tile to spell “quidditch.”
BRB, rewatching all eight Harry Potter movies. (You know, for material.)
