Queen Elizabeth’s Royal Florists Share How They Make Traditional Christmas Door Wreaths

The royal family Instagram account is continuing to provide us with all of the Christmas decoration inspiration we need this holiday season. Over the past month, Queen Elizabeth and her family have been sharing glimpses of their Christmas decor, and one of their posts showed fans and followers how to create DIY wreaths.

Earlier this month, the royal florists shared a “how-to” video featuring their method for creating a “traditional Christmas door wreath.” The video followed one individual who walked viewers through the step-by-step process.

“Christmas trees were introduced to Britain in the late 18th century by Queen Charlotte, consort of George III,” the post’s caption read. “But they’re not the only way to bring a touch of nature to your home’s Christmas decorations.”

The caption provided further details about the list of required materials including a copper wreath ring, moss, reel wire, foliage such as pine and holly, dried fruit slices and cinnamon sticks.

The post came just one day after the royals gave followers a peek at the interior decorations at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. They wrote, “The Palace has lit up with festive wreaths, garlands and lights, including a 15-foot-high Christmas tree in the Great Gallery. In the Royal Dining Room, the table sparkles with flowers, wreaths and candied sugared fruits.”

In addition, the week prior, the account showed the decorations that are being displayed in Windsor Castle, specifically the 20-foot Christmas tree in St George’s Hall.
