You Can Now Rent Claude Monet's French Country Home (and It's Way Cheaper Than Expected)

On your next vacation, you could stay at a giant hotel chain that's totally nice but lacks a certain je ne sais quois. Or, you could stay at Claude Monet's French country house, and soak up all the artistic inspiration you could ever want.

Located in Giverny, the so-called Blue House is a 2,152-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that sleeps eight and costs an average of $256 per night through Vrbo. (If you’re traveling alone, you can also rent the ground floor for half the price.)

An ideal combination of rustic charm and modern sensibilities, the house, which is surrounded by gardens, has TV, internet and a washer and dryer. According to the owner, the house is located in the heart of Giverny, "but in the quieter part." The more touristy part, where the Impressionist Museum and shops are, is within walking distance. If you're interested in day trips, both Paris and Versailles are about an hour car drive away.

One enthusiastic reviewer called the Blue House a "Spectacular home in a charming, idyllic French town," while another said, "This was a dream come true. This home and location surpassed expectations." Sounds good to us.
