A Rainbow Appears Outside Buckingham Palace in the Wake of Queen Elizabeth’s Death

As the entire world and members of the royal family mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who has died at the age of 96, royal fans have already started gathering outside of Buckingham Palace to say a final goodbye to the monarch and were greeted with a very special surprise.

Journalist Katie Couric reposted a video (previously shared by @itvnews) where a person across the pond captured a video of a rainbow appearing over Buckingham Palace in the wake of the queen’s passing.

After the tragic news of the monarch’s passing broke, a crowd of royal admirers gathered outside of the palace and even started singing the tune “God Save the Queen.”

The spontaneous event comes a few hours after Buckingham Palace released a public statement regarding the monarch’s health. “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” the statement read. “The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

Several members of the royal family traveled to Balmoral Castle (where the queen was receiving medical treatment) located in Scotland. Prince William, the queen’s son Prince Andrew, Prince Edwards and his wife Sophie (Countess of Wessex) were all photographed in the same vehicle entering the residence.

A spokesman confirmed that Prince Harry is traveling to Balmoral to be with his grandmother after cutting his and wife Meghan Markle’s planned European trip short.

Rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth.
