Royal photographers are always capturing moments of the royal family, from candid shots to more posed portraits (after all, it is their job). But every so often, there’s a photo that really stands out. Whether it's of a royal breaking protocol or using a classic parenting move, these rare moments always seem to make an impression. And that's exactly what happened with this recent photo of Queen Camilla.

On Tuesday, February 18, Queen Camilla hosted a reception in London to celebrate the talented people behind the National Theatre, which she’s been patron of since 2022. Amid all the photos taken at the event, which included candid shots with stars like Cate Blanchett and James Corden, one photographer captured a striking image of Queen Camilla sitting alone.

In the shot, Queen Camilla is smiling from ear to ear as she watches a performance. Another photo shows her with a similar grin, looking serene as she sits calmly.

Over on the royal family’s official Instagram, they shared a short video from the event, featuring clips of the performance and other notable attendees, like We Live in Time star Andrew Garfield and Downton Abbey's Jim Carter.

“Shining a spotlight on the wonderful work of @NationalTheatre - on stage, on screen, and in schools,” they captioned the post.

Of course, this isn't the first time Camilla’s been captured in a striking photo. Just last week, another photographer caught her looking absolutely ethereal during a visit to Middlesbrough, where she attended an event for the National Literacy Trust and presented awards to five students. At that event, she was photographed sitting alone on stage, bathed in purple stage lighting that gave her an almost otherworldly glow.
