Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip Reveal New Portrait for Wedding Anniversary

Another milestone, another portrait released by the royal family.

ICYMI: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are celebrating their 73rd anniversary today. And in honor of the major event, the royal family shared a new portrait of Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh on its social media platforms.

In the photograph, the 94-year-old monarch and His Royal Highness are seen looking at an anniversary card made by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, alongside other cards and letters sent by well-wishers. The queen looks stunning in a periwinkle dress and a pearl necklace, while her hubby dons a navy suit jacket and pair of grey dress pants.

According to an Instagram caption, the sweet snap was taken earlier this week by @Chrisjacksongetty in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle, where the couple is currently quarantining amid the United Kingdom's second national lockdown due to a surge in coronavirus cases.

And while we were busy admiring the artwork from the Cambridge kids, we almost missed one major detail of Liz’s ensemble. Per People, Elizabeth is wearing a special bold blue diamond-and-sapphire brooch, called the Chrysanthemum Brooch, which previously made an appearance in a photo from the couple's honeymoon. In the throwback snap, which Buckingham Palace also shared on Instagram, the duo is seen walking through the gardens at Broadlands in Hampshire. Not to mention, the monarch also wore the same piece in portraits released for her 60th wedding anniversary in 2007.

Handmade cards and sentimental brooches? Looks like year 73 is starting off on the right foot (given the circumstances).
