That’s right, two of the monarch’s horses, Lancer IV and Tower Bridge, are competing in the five-day horse show. They are entered in two different classes: Four Year Old Hunter and Heavyweight Hunter, respectively.

The event just so happened to fall on the same day that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the name of their first child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The news came two days after the Duchess of Sussex gave birth at The Portland in London, a private maternity-only hospital near Regent’s Park. Shortly after, the royal family confirmed that Queen Elizabeth “is delighted with the news.”

Was it because his arrival didn’t interfere with the Royal Windsor Horse Show? Not that we’d blame her, of course.
