Queen Camilla Makes First Royal Appearance After Summer Break (& It Includes One Seriously Chic Dress)

After a quiet summer break at Balmoral, Queen Camilla is officially back on royal duty and she made her return in the most Queen Camilla way possible: with a packed schedule and a polished outfit repeat that I absolutely clocked.

For her first post-summer outing on September 2, the 78-year-old royal headed to Cornwall to visit several of her patronages. But let’s talk about the dress first. Camilla wore a navy polka dot midi by Fiona Clare, finished with a crisp white collar. Sound familiar? That’s because she wore it earlier this year during a royal visit to Rome. And yes, it’s just as chic the second time around.

Polka dots seem to be a royal family staple. Kate Middleton is also a fan, which is no surprise because it’s one of those classic patterns that never really goes out of style.

During her visit, the Queen stopped by ShelterBox HQ in Truro, where she met with staff and volunteers and saw how the organization continues to support people displaced by disasters and conflict, according to Buckingham Palace's post. (Fun fact: She first encountered the charity back in 2006 while visiting Pakistan and has been involved ever since.)

Next, she popped over to Wave House Church to meet with members of the Cornwall Community Foundation, a group that helps fund and empower grassroots organizations across the region.

She rounded out her day with a visit to Cornwall Air Ambulance, the very first air ambulance service in the UK.

Of course, this isn’t her first repeat look. In August, Camilla wore a floral Fiona Clare dress to the Ebor Festival that she previously donned in May. And who could forget her green peacock print number or that soft pink ensemble she wore for the D-Day 80th anniversary?

The takeaway? When you find a great dress, wear it again. Royal approval makes it official.
