This Portrait of Princess Diana’s Mom Is Making Us Do a Double Take

If you thought Charles Spencer bears a striking resemblance to his late sister, Princess Diana, then prepare to be awed by this rare photo.

Earlier this week, Spencer shared a never-before-seen picture of his gorgeous mom, Frances Shand Kydd, on his personal Instagram account.

The pic features an old portrait of Kydd, which is framed and displayed in the library at Spencer’s childhood home, Althorp House. The painting shows Kydd looking off in the distance as she poses in a blue off-the-shoulder top. Upon closer inspection, it’s clear that Princess Diana was the spitting image of her mother.

When compared to a photo of Princess Diana (see below), we see several similarities. Everything from their bouncy blonde hair and bright blue eyes to their striking profile look nearly identical.

The caption read, “My mother—on this, her 85th birthday. She was born in Sandringham, Norfolk, on the very same day that King George V died—in the same parish. She died three days after the 50th anniversary of her marriage to my father. This portrait is to be found in the Library at @althorpehouse.”

So, who wants to travel to England to see this lovely portrait in person? Asking for a friend…
