Princess Charlene of Monaco and Her Daughter Coordinated in Blue Coats for Annual Christmas Party

We're really starting to see a streak of matching mothers and daughters at royal family events this holiday season. Just a couple days ago, Kate Middleton and her 7-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, attended the Together at Christmas concert wearing harmonizing outfits—as the Princess of Wales sported a maroon coat dress from Eponine, her daughter donned her own burgundy outerwear. Now, Princess Charlene of Monaco and her daughter, Princess Gabriella, 8, are pulling off the same trick.

Princess Charlene and her husband, Prince Albert II of Monaco, hosted their annual children's Christmas party this past Wednesday, December 14, at the Prince's Palace. And it was there that we noticed the princess consort and her daughter had coordinated their coats.

Princess Charlene looked absolutely chic in a deep blue woolen cape, which she layered over a black mock neck sweater and black pants. Meanwhile, young Princess Gabriella kept the color palette going, by sporting a thick midnight blue fur coat along with black leggings and black flats.

Prince Albert and his son, Prince Jacques, 8, both donned black peacoats for the event, but the sovereign decided to add a splash of color to his ensemble, accessorizing with a plaid red scarf.

This tradition, which was started by Princess Grace back in the 1960s, involves members of the royal family handing out gifts to children, and the day's festivities includes entertainers, treats and more.

As seen in the photo below, the Prince's Palace was also decked out in festive decor, with fake penguins and polar bears to really give the residence a wintry feel (oh, and Santa of course).
