Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie Brought to Tears During Zoom Call

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were brought to tears during their latest video appearance.

The royal sisters recently joined a Zoom call honoring the winners of the inaugural Teenage Cancer Trust 2020 Awards. The pair chatted with a woman named Enid Waterfall, who raised more than £28,000 (about $35,000) after her grandson, Richard, lost his battle to a rare form of cancer.

After hearing Waterfall’s story, Princess Eugenie emotionally praised the woman for her efforts in creating a “legacy” for Richard.

“First of all, to hear about your grandson Richard—what an amazing thing to do, in honor of his memory,” the royal said while fighting back tears. “I think it almost chokes me up a bit because it must be so difficult to do that.”

Waterfall went on to explain her motivation, adding, “Strangely enough you feel closer to Richard when you’re doing it. And the reaction from people—it’s not me, it’s the people who give, it’s the people who work with me, it’s everyone who approaches you and keeps giving money—time after time after time.”

Princess Beatrice wiped away tears as she said, “Thank you for all your incredible work…for you and also for Richard’s legacy. Thank you for everything.”

The joint appearance should come as no surprise, since both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are honorary patrons of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Still, we can’t help but wonder if crying in public goes against the royal family’s rulebook. We’re sure the queen would make an exception…
