We're certainly willing to share the road with these two cyclists. Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 41, are celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary today, and the pair marked the occasion by sharing a new portrait, which appears to have been snapped during a romantic bike ride.
The photo was posted to the official Instagram account run by the Prince and Princess of Wales, with a caption that read: “12 years [heart emoji].”
The photo was taken by Matt Porteous, who has become a frequent photographer for Prince William and Princess Catherine.
In fact, the royal photographer captured a photo of Princess Catherine with her three kids—Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 5—which was shared for Mother's Day this year. He was also the official photographer for the Prince and Princess of Wales's royal tour of the Caribbean in March 2022.
Prince William and Princess Catherine first met when they were students at the University of St. Andrews and they began dating in 2003. Then, in 2010, the pair announced their engagement and they tied the knot on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey.
Since those nuptials, we have always looked forward to seeing how the couple will celebrate their special day. Back in 2021, when the pair celebrated the milestone of 10 years of marriage, they posted a new video to their joint account. In the caption, the royals wrote: “Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary. We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C.”
