If you were under the impression that everyone and their mother has watched Netflix's Tiger King, you might want to think again. Apparently, it's just not Prince William's cup of tea.
The Duke of Cambridge joined BBC's charity television show The Big Night In yesterday as part of a comedy sketch with actor Stephen Fry. Two two chatted over a mock Zoom call, where they discussed the difficulties of homeschooling and what's good on TV. After Fry mentioned he's heard positive things about the Joe Exotic reality show, Prince William shot down the suggestion, joking, "I tend to avoid shows about royalty." Um, sorry, can't relate.
The video went on to show Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (2), standing together and cheering as part of the "Clap for Carers" campaign. All dressed in shades of blue (please note the Duchess's stunning dress), they showed their support for the NHS frontline workers currently working to fight coronavirus while standing outside of their Anmer Hall home. It also happened to be Prince Louis's second birthday.
While we admire their touching tribute, we honestly can't get over the fact that Prince William isn't clued in to sheer ridiculousness of Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin's feud (and, you know, everything else about the show). Seriously, is he the only person who hasn't seen the docuseries?
We'll give him a pass for now considering he's probably swamped with homeschool history lessons and French studies. But once self-isolation is in the rearview mirror, we're going to expect an official royal opinion about whether or not Carole killed her husband.
