While Prince William took on King Charles's former role as Colonel-in-Chief in June, there's another role he'll be taking over in the very distant future: the role of king (don't worry, we're not rushing anything here). Hello! reports Prince William will make one bold move when he takes on the major title—and it's quite surprising.

According to Ingrid Seward, royal biographer and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, the Prince of Wales will never move into Buckingham Palace. He plans to follow in his father's footsteps and stay in his own home.

"He has never had any fondness for it, and he probably hasn't spent much time there. The Queen [Elizabeth] and Prince Philip were devastated when they had to move out of Clarence House; Winston Churchill told them that the Queen had to live in a palace," Seward tells Hello!

She continues, "But that was then, and this is now. Maybe Buckingham Palace will open to the public all year round rather than only in the summer, and they use Windsor Castle for banquets."

It looks like William is already putting this goal into motion as Kensington Palace confirmed reports that the royal couple will be moving later this year. Although they have two other places—Anmer Hall and Sandringham Estate in Norfolk—multiple reports state they will most likely be moving into Forest Lodge, which is not too far from their current home.

People reports the estate is currently going through renovations before they officially move in and the royal couple is paying for all the repairs.

Sources say the recent move will give them more time with their children. And since Prince George might be transitioning into a new school next year, all the more reason to start this next chapter. Seward also predicts William will perform double duties as a hands-on father and monarch.

Here's to seeing what the rest of the year looks like for William and the rest of the royal fam!
