New month, new royal calendar. June is here and that means the royal family is back to business with a fresh slate of engagements. From King Charles and Queen Camilla to Duchess Sophie and Princess Anne, everyone’s got something on the books. And yes, Prince William is right there with them—though one of his events this week stands out in a big way.

On Wednesday, June 4, the Prince of Wales will make his first official visit as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. He’ll be heading to Wattisham Flying Station to spend time with 4 Regiment Army Air Corps and get a closer look at what they do. While royal visits to military units aren’t new, this one marks a milestone: it’s William’s first appearance in this role since it was officially handed over to him by King Charles in May 2024.

There is a bit of lore behind the new role as it is the same title that was once expected to go to Prince Harry, who served in the Army Air Corps during his time in Afghanistan. But after stepping down as a senior royal in 2020, Harry’s path shifted and the honor eventually went to his older brother.

If May was any indication (remember the Princess Charlotte birthday tributes, that emotional father-son photo of Charles and William and, of course, Princess Catherine’s style moments?), June may be shaping up to be another busy month for the royals. The Prince and Princess of Wales even dropped their “May rewind” video over the weekend—and it was packed.
