Camera Captures Ethereal Photo of Prince Harry Standing All Alone on Stage

It's all in the lighting

Prince Harry made the most of his time in Canada for the 2025 Invictus Games. Not only did he go on a surprise double date, but he also took a page out of Princess Diana’s handbook and went snowtubing. Although the annual event has come to an end, I can’t stop thinking about this striking portrait of the Duke of Sussex, 40, that was taken on the final day of activities.

When Prince Harry gave a powerful speech during the Invictus Games closing ceremony, photographers captured an ethereal photo of the royal standing alone on the stage.

Maybe it’s the camera angle that makes Prince Harry look so small compared to the big stage. Or maybe it’s the blurry effect due to the light rays stemming from the harsh stage lights. Regardless, there’s something ethereal about his candid shot.

During the ceremony, Prince Harry delivered a powerful speech and held back tears as he thanked the veterans for their participation at the Invictus Games. “To our Invictus wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, kids, grandparents and friends, if you can, please stand and be recognized. We salute you,” he said. “To our comrades, friends or loved ones who we lost to battle or to suicide, tonight we honor you too.”

The Duke of Sussex continued, “To those of you whose journey to these Games has been difficult and uncertain, who questioned whether you would even make it here today, thank you for showing us what is possible. In the pursuit of saving yourselves, you have also saved all of us. Those who love you and those who don’t even know you.”

Prince Harry also revealed that he hopes to continue the Invictus Games for years to come, adding, “As much as we wish these Games weren’t necessary, I understand why they are still needed, perhaps more than ever. It’s because of the strength you give to the world. The power of your example. Your duty to one another. You may swear allegiance to different flags, but you stand united in your decency, your compassion and your spirit of service.”

Well said, Prince Harry.
