For those who have been on the official royal family website recently, then you might have noticed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s individual bio pages have been deleted. Now, their pages have been combined into one joint profile with the title “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” So, you may be wondering: Why the sudden change?

It’s worth noting that the royal website update happened shortly after Prince Harry and Markle relaunched their Sussex website back in February. While neither the couple nor any member of the royal family have publicly explained the website update, our guess is that the change may be accredited to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s desire for a rebrand.

You see, after Prince Harry and Markle stepped down from their royal duties in 2020, the couple were no longer allowed to use the HRH styling or the word “royal” in their projects—which explains why the duke and duchess have not used their Sussex Royal Instagram since March 2020. Since then, they have launched many projects of their own, including their charity Archewell and their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan

Not only have Prince Harry and Markle’s individual bio pages been removed from the royal website, but the profiles dedicated to their two children (Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2) have been deleted as well.

On March 19, King Charles (or most likely his team) showed support for Prince Harry and Markle’s website relaunch by providing the URL on their new joint bio page. Following the “About” section dedicated to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, there is a short summary of the couple’s latest website launch, which reads, “Information about the current work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be found on their official website: sussex.com.”

Well, that explains everything.
