Prince Harry Gets Super Emotional While Receiving Standing Ovation

Even though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to step down as senior members of the royal family doesn’t mean they aren’t emotional about it.

All eyes were on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they attended the annual Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday (in matching red ensembles we might add). The event marked the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 80th anniversary of the formation of Britain’s Commandos.

At one point in the evening, the couple was treated to a sustained round of applause from fellow service members as they took their seats in the royal box at the London venue. Prince Harry (who is Captain General of the Royal Marines) became understandably emotional, as his wife held tightly to his hand. See the touching moment below.

It was obviously a very big moment for Prince Harry, who is being forced to relinquish his honorary military titles now that he's stepping down.

According to The Guardian, Warrant Officer, Reg Sheen, the festival manager, said it was “absolutely fantastic” to see the Sussexes and that he was “delighted” Harry was the force’s Captain General. “The reaction they got from the audience when they arrived was very emotional for the Royal Marines,” Sheen added.

This is most likely the last time we’ll see Harry in his military uniform. So, yeah, don't blame us if we're a little emotional too.
