After Tayshia Adams replaced Clare Crawley as the lead of The Bachelorette, we knew it would take a lot to top the drama that ensued in season 16. Everything changed when ABC named not one, but two new Bachelorettes during the finale of Matt James’s season of The Bachelor: Katie Thurston (season 17) and Michelle Young (season 18).

The pair will embark on two completely different journeys, which will air this summer and fall (respectively). Although this double-whammy format has never been done before, we can’t deny that it’s a fantastic way to regenerate some excitement around the franchise after the recent yawn-worthy seasons.

In honor of Thurston and Young, keep reading for a complete list of all the past Bachelorettes, ranked.
