Paris Hilton is sharing the special meaning behind her and husband Carter Reum’s newborn son’s name.
In a brand-new episode of This Is Paris, the 42-year-old TV personality read an excerpt from her memoir, Paris, where she revealed the name of her son: Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum. During the podcast, Hilton explained that she chose the moniker several years ago.
“If all goes well, by the time you read this, Carter and I will have a baby boy,” she wrote in the excerpt. “We plan to name him Phoenix, a name that I decided on years ago when I was searching cities, countries and states on a map looking for something to go with Paris and London.”
Hilton continued, “Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more importantly it’s the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again. I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future.”
Hilton also revealed that the baby’s middle name was inspired by her late grandfather, Barron. “He was always my mentor. I looked up to my grandfather so much, and we were so close, and I miss him every day,” she said. “So, I really wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son’s name. So, there you go. My beautiful baby boy’s name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.”
After the podcast was released, Hilton shared the baby’s name on Instagram and wrote, “Phoenix. [blue heart emoji] Pre-order my book Paris: The Memoir and tune into my latest @thisisparispodcast episode at the link in my bio to learn more about why this name means so much to me.”
