Yeehaw! We're ready to slip on our boots and put on our sparkly cowboy hats after hearing this news. Turns out, Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves are executive producing a brand-new music competition series on Apple TV+, titled My Kind of Country. And with their seal of approval, we're already setting our reminders to watch.

The reality series will be hosted by three artists who have brought big changes to the world of country music: Mickey Guyton, Orville Peck and Jimmie Allen. Filmed in country music's capital, Nashville, Tennessee, these stars are on the hunt for “diverse and innovative artists from around the world.”

Each of the competitors on the show has been hand-picked by the hosts, thanks to their promising talent. And according to Apple, “The competition winner will receive a life-changing prize from Apple Music, receiving unprecedented support and exposure on the platform.”

In the trailer, we see Witherspoon and Musgraves talking about the inspiration behind the series. “When we got together a long time ago, we were talking about how country music should stop limiting people and start opening doors,” Witherspoon said.

“It's music brought over from all over the world,” Musgraves adds. “The bluegrass, the folk, the gospel—there's so many threads woven through country music.”
