One Brave Soul Dropped an F-Bomb in Front of Harry and Meghan—Here’s What Happened

Fortune favors the bold, but how bold is too bold when you’re chatting with royalty? One kid found out today…kinda.

It all started when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Bristol Old Vic in Bristol, England. They made friends with some toddlers and also met with local children who participate in an outreach workshop that teaches them about the theater. Harmless enough, right?

Well, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chatted with the kids, one brave soul stood out for his rather flippant use of the F-word. Yes, this child dropped an F-bomb in front of royalty. Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, are arguably the most relaxed royals (see all the royal protocol envelope pushing and PDA), but still.

It happened when the couple, who’s expecting their first child this April, was speaking with a young man with headphones on. The rabble-rouser spoke about his experience in the historic theater in a very off-the-cuff manner, saying, “When you’re on the stage, you can’t be like, you know, f**king around on the stage.”

Markle, a former theater kid, knows this better than anyone, and simply chuckled to herself and raised her eyebrows in a semi-surprised sort of way. (She was speaking with a preteen after all, and preteens are nothing if not loose cannons).

Prince Harry, however, appeared to be somewhat dumbstruck and bent his knees and opened his mouth a bit in response to the risqué comment. It’s not every day that a royal well-wisher speaks so brazenly.

Cheers to you, little dude. May that relaxed confidence follow you into adulthood. Just maybe try and use better manners next time, ’kay?
