Is Meghan Markle Returning for ‘Pearson’? ‘Suits’ Creator Speaks Out

The first episode of Pearson (aka the Suits spin-off) has finally arrived. And while Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) already addressed Meghan Markle’s (Rachel Zane) involvement in season nine of Suits, we can’t help but wonder if the duchess, 37, will appear in the brand-new show.

In a recent interview with Deadline, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that while there’s no plan for a Markle cameo in Pearson, it’s not totally out of the picture. “You never know,” he said. “There is always a chance she is going to pick up the phone and call me and say, ‘Can I come back?’”

Of course, Korsh admitted that he highly doubts he’ll be getting a call from the Duchess of Sussex anytime soon. “If she did, she would be welcomed back here with arms wide open,” he added. “But no, I don’t see that happening.”

The showrunner went on to discuss the ninth (and final) season of Suits, which will feature a one-episode cameo by Adams.

“He is the foundation of the show. It was built on him—others also—but the very foundation we built on Patrick and Mike, and we all wanted to have him back,” Korsh continued. “It was about how to integrate him organically and in a satisfying way.”

Although Adams previously revealed that his return to Suits will include a phone call with Markle’s character, it appears our Rachel Zane withdrawal isn’t going anywhere.

Pearson airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
