Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are adjusting to their new life as a family of four shortly after welcoming their second child, Lilibet “Lili” Diana. Despite the change of pace, there’s one thing that Markle has had planned for years—passing down a very special heirloom to her daughter.

In 2015, the Duchess of Sussex revealed during an interview with Hello! that she always dreamed of giving an important piece of her personal jewelry collection to her daughter: a Cartier French Tank watch. Markle explained that she purchased the watch “with the intention of turning it into a family heirloom.”

“I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch,” she told the outlet. “When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season—which, at the time, felt like such a milestone—I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version. I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

We first learned back in March that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were expecting a baby girl. They announced the exciting news during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on CBS.

“To have a boy and then a girl, what more could you ask for?” Prince Harry said during the interview. When asked about the possibility of more children, Markle confirmed, “Two is it.”

In addition to their new daughter, Markle and Prince Harry are also parents to a 2-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Baby Lili is one lucky girl already.
