Matthew Koma Just Called Hilary Duff His ‘Wife’

Matthew Koma just called Hilary Duff his “wife,” and now everyone is wondering if they secretly tied the knot. How could you!?

It all started yesterday when the musician, 32, shared a candid photo of the Lizzie McGuire alum, also 32, on Instagram. The photo was taken before the couple attended the Baby Ball in Los Angeles and featured the caption, “Wife.”

The term “wife” immediately caught our attention, since we had no idea they had graduated from “fiancé” and “fiancée” to “husband” and “wife.”

Unfortunately, Koma didn’t mention any further details about a potential wedding, so we can’t say whether it was a low-key hint or an honest mistake. Still, that didn’t stop fans from calling him out in the comments section.

One user wrote, “Wow I didn’t realize you got married already. Congrats.” Another tried to correct Koma: “Wait, what? Wife? You mean fiancée?”

We first learned about the couple’s engagement back in May when Duff shared a slideshow of photos on Instagram and wrote, “He asked me to be his wife.” Koma posted the same pics on his personal account, saying, “I asked my best friend to marry me…”

Duff commented on her fiancé’s post: “Thanks for the promotion babe.”

The pair first met when Duff was working on her fifth studio album, Breathe In, Breathe Out. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Banks, in October 2018. Duff also shares 7-year-old son Luca with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.

Congratulations to the, er, newlyweds?
