While Virgin River fans anxiously wait for season five, star Martin Henderson (AKA Jack Sheridan) is only teasing us more with his latest Instagram post.

Last week, the 48-year-old actor shared a behind-the-scenes pic that was taken while filming season five. And according to his caption, it seems like season six could start shooting any day now. “Waiting on set finding sunbeams shooting season 5…” Henderson wrote. “Sorry I originally wrote season 6 which was a silly mistake because we haven’t made season 6. [speak-no-evil monkey emoji].”

Netflix confirmed a sixth season of Virgin River back in May, but we still don't have an official release date for season five yet. According to the Netflix Tudum site, season five is “coming this fall,” but that's all the specifics we have at this point.

On Henderson's post, he received an even more mysterious response from his co-star, Alexandra Breckenridge (Melinda “Mel” Monroe), who commented, “Hahahaha.”

However, while season six of Virgin River could start filming soon, production was initially delayed due to the the strike. This was the first time in over 60 years that actors and writers were on strike at the same time, and it effectively halted many projects in Hollywood.

In the past, seasons of Virgin River were typically filmed in the late summer/fall and then completed by early winter. For instance, filming of season five began in July 2022 and wrapped by November of that same year. So, it's likely that season six of the series is supposed to start filming soon now that the strike is over.

All we know is we hope season five is released ASAP.
