That’s a Wrap! Mark Consuelos Just Filmed a New TV Series (and Shared a BTS Pic from Set)

Mark Consuelos has been pretty booked and busy lately. The 51-year-old actor recently made a surprise guest appearance on Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, where he played Val’s dad. And now, it looks like the Riverdale alum just finished filming another show, and lucky for us, he treated his fans to a BTS snap of himself dressed fully in character on set.

In a new photo posted to his Instagram Story, Consuelos looks quite dapper in a light brown tuxedo, a striped tie and a white-collared shirt. While he casually sits in an armchair with his fingers interlocked, camera equipment and studio lights are visible in the background.

The All My Children star wrote on the photo, “That’s a wrap on #thegirlsonthebus. Big thanks to @amychozick and @julieplec for this opportunity.”

According to Deadline, Consuelos will play a recurring character on the new HBO Max series, The Girls on the Bus. Per the outlet, he will portray a famous “Hollywood action star-turned-politician” who campaigns to run for President of the United States. In the drama, his character enters the race after a Twitter poll stated that 46 percent of Americans would vote for him.

Inspired by a chapter in Amy Chozick’s book Chasing Hillary, The Girls on the Bus centers around four female journalists hitting the campaign trail together and following some of the most flawed candidates in a presidential race made for the record books. Chozick and Julie Plec, who you may recall created the popular teen drama The Vampire Diaries, will both serve as writers for the series.

Actor Scott Foley will star alongside Consuelos in the new drama, in addition to Griffin Dunne, Leslie Fray, PJ Sosko, Becky Ann Baker, Kyle Vincent Terry, Tala Ashe and Richard Bekins.

Congrats on your new acting gig, Mark!
