Darlings, Mariah Carey Celebrated the Premiere of ‘The Crown’ Season 5 in the Most Mariah Way Possible

Yesterday, The Crown fans (us included) found a comfy spot on the couch, grabbed our remotes and eagerly turned on Netflix to watch the season five premiere. In honor of the big debut, singer Mariah Carey got all dressed up, poured herself a cup of tea and threw herself a show-themed celebration—and we can say it was certainly a royal affair.

The “Without You” singer shared a video of herself on Instagram, where she held a private screening of the season five premiere of The Crown. As she sits on a couch and sips her cup of tea, she’s wearing a champagne-colored dress, a white robe and a pair of shiny rhinestone heels.

Carey accessorized the look with a stunning Tiara (a subtle nod to Princess Diana, perhaps?), diamond drop earrings and a matching circular necklace.

“THE CROWN premiered last night and of course I had to have my own screening dahhlings!” the caption read, “Bonus fact: my song ‘Emotions’ is in the first episode! ahhhh!! [crying emoji] Thank you @netflix @thecrownnetflix!”

In the middle of the video, Carey briefly mentioned how much she enjoyed the first season of the show, saying, “Honestly, I’ve loved season one too. I mean, they’re all great.”

Last month, Netflix released the first official trailer for the highly anticipated The Crown season five. As many royal fans may know, the new season will follow the royal family in the early to mid-1990s. And the narrative will tackle famous moments in history, including Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) wearing the iconic “Revenge Dress,” the fire at  Windsor Castle, the famous BBC interview with Martin Bashir and more.

Now *this* is how you throw a celebration for a show premiere.
