This is no joke for a jester—we finally have our first behind-the-scenes look at Lady Gaga from the upcoming Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux. And based on these photos, we're even more excited to see Gaga transform into the popular DC character of Harley Quinn.

The “Bad Romance” singer was spotted on the streets of New York in an outfit (fittingly) covered in checkered diamonds. While we don't know what's happening in this particular scene, Gaga's character is seen leaving a courthouse with police surrounding her.

Lady Gaga will be portraying Dr. Harleen Quinzel (AKA Harley Quinn) in the sequel to the Oscar-winning 2019 film Joker. In this follow-up, Quinzel is introduced as a psychiatrist who ends up falling in love with Arthur Fleck—better known as the Joker (played by Joaquin Phoenix).

The Star Is Born actress was spotted in a bright red blazer with diamond stitching over a black-and-white scooped neck top. Meanwhile, she also sported a black leather skirt and diamond-patterned tights, rounding out the 'fit with shiny black booties.

If you look closely, you can see that Gaga's character is wearing dramatic eye makeup, and she's got a slight tear in her tights as well.

In other photos taken from the set, we see extras portraying supportive crowds outside of the courthouse, with certain cast members holding signs that say “Free Joker” and “Joker Marry Me!”

This isn't the first time we've seen Lady Gaga transform into Harley Quinn. Last month, the “Rain on Me” crooner shared the first photo from the film, where her character is seen standing close with the Joker. In her caption, Lady Gaga simply wrote: “Folie à Deux.”

Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on October 4, 2024. We'll be counting down the days until then.
