King Charles is a man on the move.
On Friday, the royal posed with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky ahead of their Coalition of the Willing meeting. Photographers captured a striking picture as the two took their salute before inspecting a Guard of Honour at Windsor Castle. For the occasion, the King was dressed in a crisp grey three-piece suit, which he paired with black leather oxfords, and it’s clear he meant business, as his facial expression was a serious one.
It’s been a busy period for Charles and Queen Camilla, as earlier this week, the couple joined Pope Leo XIV as part of an ecumenical service in the Sistine Chapel. The trio met at the Vatican, where photographers captured another round of striking images of the king and queen during a moment of public prayer beneath the Michelangelo ceiling.
According to People, the visit from Charles and Camilla marked a “significant moment” in relations between the Catholic Church and the Church of England, of which Charles is Supreme Governor. And per Rachel Bowie, PureWow’s Senior Director of Special Projects and Royals, this event was the first time a monarch had joined the Pope to pray in public at the Sistine Chapel in 500 years. Bowie also notes that the Queen wore a Raspberry Pip brooch worth $53,000, which, according to Maxwell Stone, the creative director for U.K.-based jeweler, Steven Stone, is “a deeply sentimental one from the royal vault” and holds special historical significance.
“It wasn’t publicly worn for decades, until Queen Camilla revived it during the 2023 Christmas service, becoming the first to showcase it in recent history,” says Maxwell.
