Kerry Washington Introduces New Puppy on Instagram & Shares Rare Glimpse of Her Mom

Kerry Washington, 46, has added a new (furry) member to her family and she posted the news on Instagram. On January 31, the Scandal star shared snaps of her new golden, shaggy-haired puppy named Cinnamon. The four-image slideshow shows the doe-eyed dog sitting on Washington’s lap. Also featured is a rare glimpse of the star's mom, Valerie. The actress captioned the post, “Instagram, meet my new furbaby…Cinnamon.”

Washington recently celebrated her birthday, so we can only assume that Cinnamon is the ultimate gift. The star's feed has been nothing but good news as she also just announced her new documentary, Daughters, will be coming to Netflix.

In a cute birthday post to herself, Washington's caption read, "I received the best birthday present in the world yesterday…. @daughtersdocumentary is going to be coming to Netflix!!!! I am so beyond thrilled for all of the amazing people who worked to bring this beautiful project to life and for all of YOU who will now get to see it!!!!!"

The comments were gushing with sweet messages from her peers. Reese Witherspoon wrote, "I love you KW! You're a beautiful light in this world! Keep shining bright."
