Kensington Palace Posts Rare Baby Pic of Kate Middleton with Mother Carole (who Looks Just Like the Grown-up Duchess)

Kate Middleton is giving us a glimpse into her childhood in honor of Mother’s Day.

To celebrate the U.K. holiday, which took place on March 22 this year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a personal slideshow on Sunday, which featured a handful of photos close to the couple’s hearts. The four photos included a never-before-seen photo of Kate and her family, a throwback of Princess Diana with Prince William and Prince Harry, a piece of artwork given to Middleton by Prince George and a shot of Middleton as a baby with her mother, Carole Middleton.

The sweet throwback of the duo shows a young Carole holding baby Kate in her arms. And wow, we really see the resemblance (scroll through the slideshow below).

“To mothers new and old and families spending today together and apart – we are thinking of you all at this difficult time. Happy Mother’s Day,” part of the Instagram caption read.

If you didn’t know, Carole Middleton is not only a mother to a duchess, but she’s also quite the entrepreneur. Carole and her husband Michael started Party Pieces, a party supply company, when their daughter-turned-duchess was just five years old in 1987.

According to an interview on CNN, Carole was a stay-at-home-mom at the time and was frustrated by the lack of affordable items to include in party bags when she hosted birthdays and other celebrations for her kids. (Reminder: Kate is one of three—there's Pippa and James, too.)

We totally see where Kate gets her work ethic, her mothering abilities and her beauty.
