Kelly Ripa Posts New Throwback Pics of Her Mom (& We Had to Do a Double Take)

Kelly Ripa may have just shown her dad and father-in-law some love for Father’s Day, but now it’s her mother’s turn.

On Wednesday, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host celebrated the birthday of her mom, Esther. To mark the special occasion, the 50-year-old television personality shared a slideshow of photos on her personal Instagram account. The post featured six throwback images, starting off with Esther as a child and ending with Ripa and her parents on the day she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“Happy birthday to my favorite lady on earth,” Ripa captioned the post. “Mom I love you as much as you love hats and wigs!!”

If you’re like us, you probably immediately noticed that Ripa and her mom could practically pass as twin sisters (especially in the younger shots). Not only do they have the same exact smile, hair and eyes, but both of women also have very similar bone structures.

And we weren’t the only ones who noticed the uncanny resemblance. Fans and followers quickly pointed out the mother-daughter duo’s likeness in the comments section of the post. One person wrote, “I love her!! The Apple didn’t fall far!” While another added, “I thought this was you!!!! Happy birthday!!!”

This isn’t the first time Ripa has posted a tribute for her mother on social media. Back in March, she shared a side-by-side image featuring young Esther (on the left) next to a red-carpet photo of the actress. “Mom 1980. Me 2005,” she captioned the photograph.
