Kelly Ripa Posts Sweet Tribute to Pal Jerry O’Connell After He Joins the Cast of ‘The Talk’

Major congratulations are in order for Jerry O’Connell, who is joining the cast of The Talk. To mark the exciting occasion, his pal, Kelly Ripa, shared a sweet tribute on Instagram.

Shortly after the news broke, the 50-year-old Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host posted a slideshow of herself and O’Connell from various events. This included Live's Best Halloween Show Ever: Decision 2016, when the duo opted to dress as Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn and The Joker.

“Congratulations to @mrjerryoc everyone’s favorite actor, host, and friend on joining the @thetalkcbs! You deserve all the success,” she wrote.

The Jerry Maguire star showed his appreciation for Ripa in his own post on IG, revealing that she helped him land the gig. “@kellyripa is why I’m on @thetalkcbs. Love you, Kelly. The. Absolute. Best.” Of course, the mother of three shared some love in the comments section, writing, “Jerry, you are why! Everyone who knows and works with you is the luckiest.”

O’Connell’s new position comes after months of serving as a guest host on the popular series as a replacement for host Sharon Osborn. (He’s also the first-ever permanent male host on the CBS show.) “You ladies have been so welcoming to me,” he told his co-hosts last week. “I mean, I came here as a guest months ago, and just from the moment I walked in, you’re just gracious, you’re kind, you’re fun, and it worked.”

Congrats, Jerry! Maybe one day you and Kelly can have your own show together. (Sorry, Ryan Seacrest).
