Kelly Ripa Gets Surprise Visitors During At-Home Taping of ‘Live’
Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are still hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan remotely, but you won't find us complaining. This just means we get more rare glimpses into their homes and now, surprise visits from members of their family.
While Ripa has invited her husband, Mark Consuelos, and a few of her kids to the set of Live in the past, she was joined by a pair of fluffier visitors during yesterday's episode. In a segment where Peloton instructor Emma Lovewell was teaching viewers how to “crush their core workout,” the camera pans over to Ripa, who was seen sitting on the floor with her two dogs, Lena (a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix) and Chewie (a Shih Tzu).
At the beginning of the video, Ripa pets the two pups before they exit the frame so she can follow along with Lovewell's exercises on her mat.
This wasn't the only moment viewers got with Ripa's dogs. Another video was shared to the Live Instagram account, with the caption, “Lena looking so cute.”
In this video, Ripa says, “Look who's here! Fresh from the groom room.” The talk show host had recently used her personal account to ask for dog groomer recommendations in Ann Arbor, and it seems she found a good choice. “People are so lovely in Ann Arbor that we got so many recommendations,” Ripa says. “It was basically who could take them first.”
Meanwhile, Ripa explains that her other dog, Chewie, was asleep at her feet, and she jokes that it's tricky when it comes to finding a groomer for her. “She's a woman of a certain age,” she explains. “As such, she has a lot of skin issues. It takes a careful hand to sort of groom around her face and her eyes.”
While Chewie has been a part of the Consuelos family for years, Lena was newly adopted last March, after she was featured on a Happy Pets segment on Live.
Ripa previously announced the new addition, saying that she and her husband made sure that Lena would get along with Chewie before adding her to the family. “My whole fear was that I didn't want Chewie to feel replaced in any way,” Ripa said.
Kelly, you should bring your dogs to the show more often.
