Katy Perry recently announced that she’s expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom. Although her public announcement went smoothly, the 35-year-old singer revealed that her mom “ruined” the wine-themed surprise she arranged for her family and friends.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s Mikey Piff, Perry discussed the special way she told her inner circle about her pregnancy, which included plastering the announcement on a wine bottle.
“I actually kind of put the news on a wine label, and I was doing it by either bringing a bottle of wine with a bespoke label that said it,” she said. “I would bring it to a dinner or something or I’d give it as a gift to a friend, like, ‘Here’s a nice bottle of wine.’ But then they’d get the reaction later.”
Pretty cute, right? Well, Perry’s plan took a turn for the worse when her nosy mom, Mary, browsed the singer’s wine stash without her knowledge.
