Can you believe that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s only child, Suri, is officially a teenager? While we undoubtedly feel old, these candid pics of her birthday celebrations are giving us major Joey Potter vibes.
Yesterday, the mother-daughter duo made a rare public appearance in SoHo in honor of Suri’s 13th birthday. The Dawson’s Creek alum, 40, was spotted leaving Delicatessen Restaurant in New York City with her mini-me and two friends.
Suri’s birthday suit attire consisted of a pink-and-white dress. She accessorized the ensemble with a mint green jacket, blue purse and red lipstick. Her friends also wore bright colors, and their outfits look straight off the set of Hannah Montana.
Holmes, on the other hand, went for a chic look in honor of Suri’s teenage years. The actress wore a statement trench coat by Wilfred, which retails for $298. She completed the getup with a blue-and-white striped shirt, red-and-grey striped pants, polka-dot flats and a black tote bag.
In case you’re wondering, Suri’s father was noticeably absent from her birthday festivities. We’re not surprised by the decision, since the 13-year-old hasn’t been photographed with her dad since 2013. Although we don’t know if they celebrated in private, at least the dinner at Delicatessen seemed like a success.
The appearance comes just one month after Holmes took Suri to the Moria refugee camp in Lesbos, Greece, a trip that—lucky for us—was documented on Instagram.
