Katie Holmes Rocked a Black Bikini-Esque Outfit at New York Fashion Week

It appears Katie Holmes isn't quite ready for beach season to end.

The 42-year-old actress looked like she was going to catch some rays, thanks to this eye-popping outfit she wore during New York Fashion Week. Holmes has always won us over with her looks for the major event, and when she arrived at the unveiling of a boutique for Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, she grabbed everyone's attention with her stunning, skin-baring outfit.

The black ensemble, which features a triangle cut-out at the stomach and a tie-up front, was courtesy of Australian designer Christopher Esber. (The multi-panel ruched halter dress currently runs for $990 on Esber's site.) Holmes paired the design with some blanc low-top sneakers from Adidas. The full look can be seen below.

Not pictured is the back of the dress, which features rounded shoulder blade cut-outs at the top. But what we can see is that Holmes's nails were painted white to match her sneakers, and she layered a black button-up over the dress to complete the look.

More views of the Esber design were seen on Holmes's Instagram account, where she shared a slideshow of pics showing off the outfit and said, “Photos by @djquintero.”

In keeping with the colors of her outfit, Holmes shared black-and-white photos of herself posing on a rooftop with the New York cityscape in the background. The Dawson's Creek actress also took some pics in front of a graffiti wall and crossing the street à la The Beatles.

Fellow celebs were obsessed with the look, like dancer Tyce Diorio, who said, “Stunning beyond words.” Patti Smith told Holmes that she was “Beautiful inside and out.” And Alyssa Milano added, “GORGEOUS.”

We can't wait to see what other stars have in store for the rest of NYFW.
