Her Majesty Kate Middleton is no stranger to A-line skirts and jewel-toned sheath dresses, but a cropped top? The always-prim-and-proper duchess wore just that, though, to the first palace Christmas party of the year at Kensington Palace, and we're adding this to our winter outfit research list.
Middleton got in the holiday spirit in a red tartan midi skirt by Emilia Wickstead (similar here) and cropped black cashmere cardigan by Brora. She completed the look with black slouchy suede boots that were covered to the mid-calf by the top of her skirt.
While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to sit this holiday party out, we're confident that Duchess Kate can control the royal style reins just fine, crop top and all.
