Blast from the past, anyone?

When it comes to relationships, there are all kinds of milestones worth celebrating—engagements, weddings, babies, you name it. But what’s just as fun as the milestone itself? Planning the celebration—and this is even the case when it involves royalty.

Next week, Prince William and Kate Middleton will be celebrating a major moment: their 14th wedding anniversary on April 29. Naturally, royal watchers (myself included) are curious about how the couple plans to mark the occasion—and yes, I have answers.

In a move that’s equal parts romantic, nostalgic and surprisingly low-key, the Prince and Princess of Wales are heading back to the place where their love story began: Scotland, People reports. Specifically, they’ll be visiting an island off the country’s northwest coast for a two-day trip that kicks off on their actual anniversary.

The royal couple's itinerary includes a stop on the Isle of Mull, where they’ll spend time in the town of Tobermory. And while it’s technically a work visit—part of a tour focused on supporting rural communities and local craftsmanship—it’s also a meaningful return to their roots.

William and Kate met as students at the University of St. Andrews in 2001—both studying Art History, with their relationship blossoming over their years at university. So, in a way, this trip doubles as a walk down memory lane.

While in Scotland, they’ll also be launching a partnership through their Royal Foundation to support two local community spaces, highlighting the island’s deep ties to farming, fishing and tourism.

And while it may not be a beachy vacation or fancy dinner date, I have to admit—it’s kind of sweet that even their “work trips” come with a dose of personal history. Just earlier this month, King Charles and Queen Camilla had a similar experience as their 20th wedding anniversary landed while they were in Italy on royal duty.

Turns out, the royals are pretty great at multitasking—celebrating love and getting the job done.
