It's so on brand

Remember back in June when Princess Catherine popped by the V&A East Storehouse in East London? She looked effortlessly chic (as usual) in that blue suit that gave total Prince William vibes. At the time, it seemed like just another royal engagement—admiring the new cultural space, checking out some cool historical pieces and charming everyone within a 10-foot radius. But fast-forward to now, and turns out, Catherine’s visit had a much deeper purpose.

As of Wednesday, July 30, Kensington Palace confirmed that the Princess of Wales has officially stepped into a new role: museum curator. Yes, really. In a post shared to Instagram, the palace revealed that Kate curated a special display at the V&A East Storehouse, showing off a short video from her earlier visit, along with some stunning close-ups of the items she selected herself.

“Curating a special display at V&A East Storehouse following a visit in June,” the caption read. “The collection celebrates past makers and creators, and shows how historic objects can influence fashion, design, film, art and creativity today.”

Honestly, if anyone was born to do this, it’s the Princess of Wales. Let’s not forget, she studied art history at the University of St. Andrews (where, yes, she also met Prince William). So this project feels like a full-circle moment, merging her academic background, creative eye and passion for the arts.

Her curated “mini-display,” called Makers and Creators, features a porcelain vase from the Qing dynasty, a watercolor by Beatrix Potter and a costume from the Royal Ballet’s The Sleeping Beauty (worn by Diana Vere in 1960), among others. The display is now open to the public and will remain on view until early 2026.

Curator Kate? Yeah, it has a nice ring to it.
