Prince William and Kate Middleton have been on the go for the past week, with everything from the Festival of Remembrance to the Remembrance Day service. So, it was only a matter of time before someone slipped up. (Literally.)
On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Shout’s Crisis Volunteer celebration event at the Troubadour White City Theatre in London. While returning to their car, Middleton nearly faceplanted when her heel got caught on the uneven ground.
In a video obtained by The Sun, Middleton can be seen walking to the car while holding a bouquet of flowers. After stepping down a flight of stairs, she makes a slight stumble as she reaches for the door.
Prince William immediately springs into action, offering his wife a helping hand. But she doesn’t need it. In fact, Middleton casually looks back at her husband and chuckles before stepping inside the vehicle.
The 37-year-old duchess donned a sophisticated outfit, featuring tapered pants by Joseph. (Although she’s wearing the maroon version, they also come in black.)
Middleton completed the look with a black-and-white jacket by Smythe and a pair of suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi.
During the event, Prince William and Middleton showed a surprising amount of PDA. At one point, the duke even reached out and placed his hand on his wife’s back. The gesture is a big deal, since members of the royal family are supposed to act professional while at work.
Leave it to Middleton to make tripping look graceful.
