Kate Middleton & Prince William Shared Some Rare PDA Moments at Their Shout Engagement

Kate Middleton and Prince William aren’t ones to go heavy on the PDA. They are royals after all. But every once and a while, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 37, let their guards down. That’s just what happened today when they visited Shout’s Crisis Volunteer celebration event at the Troubadour White City Theatre in London.

Middleton and William arrived at the event ready to hear about the organization’s impact. (For those unfamiliar, Shout offers a text message service to support those in the middle of a crisis.) As the couple walked toward officials from Shout, Prince William reached out and placed his hand on his wife’s back lovingly. Don’t worry–we’ll explain why this is such a big deal.

But that wasn’t all.

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed out to their car after the event, Prince William rested his hand on Duchess Catherine’s back yet again!

Here’s another angle.

From the look on Middleton’s face, she appears to be happy about her husband’s surprisingly hands-on approach to their royal engagement.

Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known to fit in all the PDA they’d like, Prince William and Kate Middleton are more traditional while they’re at work. (Yep, royal engagements are technically work and they will be king and queen consort someday.)

That said, it’s not every day you get a Duke and Duchess of Cambridge PDA spotting.
