Kate Middleton Is Set to Celebrate a Major Family Milestone Tomorrow—and It Has Nothing to Do with Prince William

It's a fun one

When it comes to the royal family, there’s always something happening—be it a formal state banquet, a glitzy charity gala or an official royal tour. But not all events are headline-grabbing spectacles. Sometimes, it’s the quieter, more personal milestones that hold the most meaning—like birthdays. And tomorrow, Kate Middleton is expected to mark a special one.

The Princess of Wales is believed to be joining her family to celebrate her younger brother James Middleton’s 38th birthday on April 15, according to Hello!. While it’s not confirmed exactly how the family will be celebrating, the gathering is expected to be an intimate one, bringing the Middletons together for the occasion, the outlet adds. And this birthday holds a little extra significance—it’s James’s second since becoming a dad.

In case you missed it, James and his wife Alizée Thevenet welcomed their son, Inigo, back in October 2023. Since then, the entrepreneur has been sprinkling in rare glimpses of family life on social media. Last month, for U.K. Mother’s Day, he posted a sweet tribute to Alizée (who was rocking a stunning red sweater, btw), writing alongside a cozy photo of her and baby Inigo, “Happy Mothers to all the amazing Mothers but an extra bit of love for this one.”

James tends to keep things pretty low-key online when it comes to his family but every once in a while he offers a heartfelt update. Back in January, he shared a carousel of family photos from a snowy winter getaway. In the caption, he got candid about how his mindset has shifted since becoming a father.

“I can’t believe how quickly Inigo is growing up—in fact that scares me the most…I fear if I blink I will miss it,” he captioned the post in part.

Here’s hoping the Middletons get some quality family time in—because sometimes, the most meaningful royal moments are the ones we don’t see.
