It’s official: Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is off the market (again). The bride-to-be, 35, just announced that she’s engaged to her beau, Jason Tartick, who tricked her into thinking they were recording a podcast. But in reality, he was popping the question.
Bristowe announced the exciting news on her personal Instagram account, where she shared photos of her massive—we repeat, massive—engagement ring. Keep reading for details on her new sparkler.
According to Zaven Ghanimian (CEO of Simon G. Jewelry), the oval-shaped diamond is set on a traditional band. “The style is a straight-line diamond pave setting with eagle claw prongs,” he told PureWow. “The minimal design is clean and timeless with nice details under the center diamond setting.”
Ghanimian estimates the center gem to be around four carats. (Yes, you read that right.) “The ring looks to be a 4ct oval diamond,” he explained. “The clarity and color are undeterminable, but I can estimate clarity between SI to VS and color between I to E.”
Bristowe made her debut on season 19 of The Bachelor before becoming the Bachelorette in season 11. Although she originally chose Shawn Booth, the couple broke off their engagement a few years later. Shortly after, Bristowe met Tartick (who starred on season 14 of The Bachelorette) while recording a podcast episode. The rest, as they say, is history.
