The home decor doyenne proved that when one door closes, another one opens as she wrote about the serendipitous timing of her pregnancy and the show’s final season: “For us, the end of this final season marks the beginning of a new one. If you would have told me that I’d end this season of the show pregnant with our fifth baby, I would’ve laughed. Like the entire Fixer Upper opportunity as a whole, life has a way of surprising us.”
Gaines went on to explain that her pregnancy inspired her and husband Chip to take a step back and refocus their attention on family and their Waco, Texas business. As Joanna writes, “there was a bigger plan in place all along.”
She also opened up further about her fifth pregnancy, writing, “Pregnancy has been so fun...Since it’s been over eight years since I was pregnant with Emmie Kay, I joke with my friends that it feels like it’s my first time being pregnant. ” But she’s not the only one in the Gaines household who’s excited about their new arrival. Joanna said her four children are excited to meet their baby brother and have enjoyed watching their mom’s pregnancy journey.
She also shared a photo of her and Chip filming their final Fixer Upper scene, and we’re not crying—you are.
Joanna wrote, “Today is really bittersweet for us....Whether you watched every single show since season one or you are just now tuning in, you all have been a part of this and Chip and I will always be grateful for your support. We’re not saying goodbye!”
Good, Joanna. Because we’re definitely not ready to say goodbye. Not now. Not ever.
